Overview (Application Settings)

www.CAD6.com

Malz++Kassner CAD6 saves numerous settings in different places on the computer. Normally, there will be no need to edit these settings manually, since all of them can also be edited from within Malz++Kassner CAD6. However, it can be useful to archive sets of settings or transfer them to another computer.

There are the following places where settings are saved:

Drawing File (*.mkd)

All information and settings relevant to the display and output of the drawing are stored in the drawing file. These are, among others, the settings of the following commands and dialog windows:

If you want to move all settings from one computer to another, you can save the current configuration file on the old computer using the Edit > Options > Save As command, transfer the file to the new computer and use the Edit > Options > Open command there to read them in again.

Local settings (not saved beyond the end of the program)

Many settings used by commands for drawing, editing and trimming are not saved permanently at all, but only as long as the respective program window is open. These are, among others, the settings of the following commands and dialog windows:

Manage > Command History

Manage > Notifications

Modify > Move / Copy Objects > Relative Values

Modify > Move / Copy Objects > Multiple Copy, Line Division

Modify > Scale Objects > Factors

Draw > Line > Parallel, Numerical

Draw > Regular Polygon > Side Length - Center

Extra > Identify > Extended Identification on/off

Extra > Identify > Override Lock and Idle

Extra > Selection Filter

Registry Database

Some settings are saved in the Registry Database during installation, which usually do not have to be changed afterwards.

These lists do not claim to be complete. There are several hundred settings that are not all listed in detail.
