Registry Database (Application Settings)

www.CAD6.com

In order to edit the registry database, you will have to start the registration editor. Normally, this editor will not be installed as an icon, so you will have to locate it using the Explorer. The registration editor is located in the SYSTEM32 subdirectory of the operating system's home directory (C:\WINDOWS\) and its file name is REGEDT32.EXE or REGEDIT.EXE. Start this file by double-clicking, or create an icon linked to that file if you plan to edit the registry frequently.

In the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Malz++Kassner CAD6 stores some system-wide settings initialized by the setup. In order to edit these values, you will require Administrator's rights.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \Malz++Kassner \CAD 6 xxx

UserMode

Determines whether application settings shall be stored system-independent and identical for all users (value 0) or individually for each user (1). This also determines the default directories where files will be stored (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Malz++Kassner\CAD6\Drawing\ vs. C:\Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Documents\Malz++Kassner\CAD6\Drawing\).

PathLocal

The directory to which the application was installed. An empty text or a single * character represents the default value (C:\Program Files\Malz++Kassner\CAD6\).

PathAllUsers

The directory to which the application writes global settings. An empty text or a single * character represents the default value (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malz++Kassner\CAD6\). You can enter an explicit path here in case you have problems with insufficient writing rights for the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users directory.

PathDrawing

The directory that contains the user drawings. A value of * represents the default value depending on UserMode.

PathLibrary

The directory that contains the user libraries. A value of * represents the default value depending on UserMode.

PathSetting

The directory that contains the user templates. A value of * represents the default value depending on UserMode.

CompileDate

Creation date of the latest installed application version.

Do not change these values unless you are absolutely sure what you do and only while the application is not running.
