Create Stripe / Halo (Trim Menu) |
www.CAD6.com |
This command can be used to create a stripe based on an object or an object outline with a defined distance to one or both of its sides.
After choosing the command, a dialog appears into which the distance can be entered.
The distances must be practical. For example, you cannot create a stripe wider than 10 mm within a circle with a radius of 10 mm. In this command's parameters, you can choose whether the result shall be automatically simplified, and set the corresponding tolerances (see Curve / Surface > Simplify).
Any standard object can be identified as reference object. Standard objects are in this case lines, circle parts, ellipse parts, curves, and surfaces.
In case of curves and surfaces with multiple outlines, the position at which the object was identified (the "ID point") affects the rest of the command. It determines which outline of this object shall be used.
The created stripe is an object of type surface. It will be placed behind the reference object and receives its properties, supplemented by properties defined in this command's parameters.
