3D Construction Plane > Edge - Point (3D Menu) |

This command can be used to create a 3D construction plane defined by a line and a point in 3D space.
Any component edge or construction line can be identified as a line in the plane by clicking near to it.
Any component corner can be identified as a point in the plane by clicking near to it.
The 3D construction plane will be visualized using a construction aid ellipse. If you see the plane exactly from above or below, you will see a perfect circle. While the plane itself is virtually endless, the ellipse used for displaying it has an origin and an extension defined by the way you created the plane. A 3D construction plane can only be identified by clicking onto its elliptical representation's outline. In order to minimize conflicts with a standard 3D face selection (which is done by clicking somewhere inside a 3D face), the current snapping radius will be halved during the plane identification.
