External Reference > Insert Drawing Reference (File Menu)

This command creates an external reference to a drawing file (this can be a MKD, DXF, DWG, or PDF file). In case of a PDF file, only one page can be chosen.

The position of the referenced drawing’s internal coordinate origin can be entered by clicking the mouse anywhere in the drawing.

After the position has been entered, the "File Selection" dialog appears, in which the desired drawing file can be chosen.

An external reference is handled as a compound unit, like a block instance. Only the Model Space of the referenced drawing will be displayed.
