Temporary Objects (Methods) |
www.CAD6.com |
Temporary Objects enable you to create, snap, and identify construction objects in between while executing other commands.
You can access the corresponding commands from the Construction menu, by pressing the appropriate key, as well as optionally in the Panel and in the Parameter Window. On a standard English keyboard, that's the ` key in the upper left corner, below the ESC key. Use those commands to create lines, circles, ellipses, endless lines, circle arcs, and ellipse arcs that are only short-lived.
Since commands for temporary objects shall interrupt the running command only for a short term, all of those commands are only active for one execution and then the original command becomes active again. If you wish to create multiple temporary objects, you'll have to select the appropriate command for each individual one, even if it's always the same command.
When snapping, temporary objects will be considered unless they have been explicitly disabled. Temporary objects can be identified for most commands as reference objects. When creating curves and surfaces, they can be used as outline elements.
Temporary objects are always short-lived and will never be stored along with the drawing. You can choose when temporary objects shall be deleted: Either after each point entered, when choosing a new command, or when opening / creating a new drawing.
The Undo command does not effect temporary objects!
