Licensing

www.CAD6.com

CAD6 can be tested in full functional range for 30 days. If you want to use CAD6 permanently, you'll have to purchase a license. Once you purchased a license, please execute the following steps after you installed CAD6 (see Setup):

Step 1: Unlock

Upon purchase, you receive an unlock code. That is a text file named MKUnlock( … ).txt that we send you e-mail. Copy it using the Unlock Program to each computer on which you want to use CAD6. The unlock code contains the license data, i.e. the list of products you purchased, the number of licenses, the expiry date of Support & Updates, and a possible rental period.

Afterwards, you have to activate the program within 30 days.

Each time the license is renewed (either a renewal of Support & Updates for a buying license or an extension of the rental period for a rental license), please perform unlocking and activating again.

Step 2: Activate

With the activation, a license is linked to a specific computer. You can choose from three different methods to activate CAD6. If you own multiple licenses, you can distribute them over these three methods any way you like:

1) Activate by Means of an Activation Key

For the activation we need your computer ID which consists of your customer ID and a hardware ID. Find the computer ID and all necessary information for the activation process in the dialog Help > Activation / Dongle. You can convey the computer ID in written form, by telephone, or comfortable online. After the conveyance of your computer ID you obtain the activation key immediately. Enter this key in the dialog Help > Activation / Dongle and press the key "Activate". Now your CAD6 is unlocked and activated!

Whenever the hardware or the operating system changes significantly (major update), a new activation may be necessary.

2) Activate by Means of the Free Dongle Server and a Virtual CAD6dongle

So-called "floating" licenses in your company's network will be realized using our free Dongle Server Software und the free virtual CAD6dongle. Optionally, you can purchase a physical CAD6dongle. The free CAD6 Dongle Server allows to dynamically distribute the existing licenses within the local network at one location. A TCP/IPv4 connection from the respective client computer to the Dongle Server is required. WANs and VPNs are not supported.

A virtual CAD6dongle is requested stating the Server ID for a specific license number and must then be registered with the Dongle Server. It is only available for licenses with non-expired Support & Updates. Not available for monthly rentals.

For more information, see the CAD6 Dongle Server Software Online Documentation.

If the server hardware or operating system changes significantly (major update), you may have to request a new virtual dongle.

3) Activate by Means of a Physical CAD6dongle

Using the optional, physical CAD6dongle, one CAD6 license can be installed on multiple computers but only be used on the one computer where the dongle is attached to. Thus you can, for example, successively use one CAD6 at your office, on the notebook, and at home. You can purchase at most one physical CAD6dongle per CAD6 buying license and only while Support & Updates has not yet expired. It can contain multiple licenses if these are managed by the Dongle Server.
