Running Direction > Optimize For Tool Path (CAM Menu)

www.CAD6.com

This command can be used to optimize the running direction (orientation) of all chosen open objects (e.g. lines, polylines, or curves) or all chosen closed objects (e.g. rectangles, circles, or areas) respectively with regard to the tool path. The running direction (orientation) of closed objects is never changed but only a new starting point is set if necessary. After executing this command the length of the tool path is minimal with regard to the given object order. This will cause no optical effect, only a possibly activated display of the orientation arrow or the starting point will illustrate the change.

1.Choose objects

The objects which are to be optimized must be chosen.

The duplicate function has no effect during the execution of this command.

Since this command does not change the output order of the selected objects and while on the other side the object order obviously affects the result, you should select a corresponding command to sort  the objects before executing this command.
