Notes on the Examples (CAM Introduction)

www.CAD6.com

To reproduce the examples shown in this tutorial, please ensure the following:

The libraries "CAM Universal" and "Standard Library" should be open (Command Library > Manage Libraries).
The relevant postprocessor, for example "HEIDENHAIN DIN-ISO (milling)" must be active (command CAM > Edit Postprocessor).
The respective drawing from the "CAM" subdirectory in your CAD6 drawing path should be open.

It is assumed that the tool list (command CAM > Manage Tool List) contains the default settings. If necessary, press the "Reset" button in the "Manage tool list" dialog to restore these default values. Deviations from the standard settings are explained on the drawing page in text with a gray background.

Please note that the position of a logical tool in the tool list is usually not the same as the number of the machine's physical tool. The tool number is part of the tool parameters, just like the cutter radius or the spindle speed, for example. All information in this introduction is in the following units: [mm] for position/length, [sec] for time, [mm/min] for speed and [rpm] for speed. Otherwise, the deviating unit is mentioned separately.
